 Prompt:
I think that I have gotten better at analyzing the importance of rhetorical appeals and devices. Writing the essay increased my confidence as I was able to write a decent essay within the time constraints. I feel prepared to continue analyzing complex texts because of the first step that we learned which was about finding all of the information and grouping it into the different rhetorical devices. This made it easier to write the essay as all of the details were ready.

 Prompt: A time I felt connected to nature was this summer when I went on vacation to Grand Teton National Park. This was the first time that I had seen huge animals up close as bison lined the sides of the road and moose drank at many of the lakes. The top of Grand Teton itself seemed to never draw any closer, no matter how far we hiked. The largeness of everything in the park made me feel how insignificant a human is compared to the vastness of nature, but it also made me feel how important it is to protect it.  Prompt: A time I was judged unfairly was when I didn't complete an assignment in class. It was a Friday and my teacher had assigned an assignment that I didn't want to do, but it was designed to help us study for an exam. I chose not to do it in class and thought that I would do it over the weekend as it wasn't graded and only for review. When my teacher saw that I hadn't done anything (I was working on a different assignment), she got mad and asked why I hadn't done anything, even though many others had also not done anything. Summary: Today in class we completed a common lit. Reflection: I didn't really enjoy the article that the common lit was about.
