Prompt: The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
Prompt:
A time where a plot twist shaped my understanding of a situation was the movie "The Usual Suspects". The police investigated a weak, submissive man who appeared to be informing on his former criminal boss. At the end of the movie we saw that the man being investigated was the kingpin after all and was making up the story as he went. This plot twist reshaped my understanding of the story as it made me realize that the subtle clues hidden in the movie implicated the man from the start.
Summary:
Today we took a test on "A Rose for Emily".
Reflection:
I am glad that this was a group test as it allowed me to discuss answers with others.
